Derek Hunter is the Head of Quality at Image Analysis Group (IAG), combining a background in GxP system validation with expertise in Quality Management to optimize processes that underpin IAG’s commitment to regulatory compliance. Derek develops and leads the implementation of IAG’s quality strategy which ensures that imaging products and services IAG provides to its pharma and biotech clients are robust, reproducible and scalable.
Derek brings nearly 30 years of industry experience, initially in scientific/operational roles followed by over 20 years in Quality Assurance. During which time he has worked for both CRO and Pharma organizations building a deep knowledge in clinical trial regulatory compliance requirements.
During his career he has managed teams of QA professionals across US, EU and AsiaPac including hosting inspections across these different jurisdictions.
Working for a mix of small, medium and large organizations he has learnt what works in terms of building a quality culture as well as streamlining the Quality Management System (QMS) without compromising quality.
Derek’s expertise is built from quality oversight of clinical programs (Phases I-III) across multiple therapeutic indications translating into practical process improvements and inspections readiness strategies. He brings a pragmatic and collaborative approach to quality leadership, partnering with stakeholders across the business to ensure IAG’s systems and processes are efficient, risk-based, and aligned with industry best practices and regulatory expectations.
Derek joined in January 2026 and is part of the Senior Leadership Team at IAG.
