Dr. Olga Kubassova is the Founder and President of Image Analysis Group (IAG), a global leader in medical imaging and AI solutions for clinical drug development. After more than 15 years as the company’s CEO, she transitioned to the role of President in 2024, continuing to shape IAG’s strategic direction and vision. Under her leadership, IAG has become a trusted partner to the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies, innovative biotech firms, and MedTech organizations delivering advanced imaging analysis and AI-powered platforms that accelerate the drug development process.
Dr. Kubassova founded IAG shortly after completing her PhD, driven by a desire to bring her research directly into clinical practice. Her academic background spans mathematics and computer science, with degrees from St. Petersburg State University and Lappeenranta University of Technology, and a PhD from the University of Leeds. This foundation in quantitative science has informed every stage of IAG’s development — from its early focus on imaging biomarkers to its current position at the intersection of medical imaging, artificial intelligence, and global clinical operations.
Dr. Kubassova’s expertise lies in identifying innovative approaches to clinical research, evaluating disruptive technology platforms, and spotting novel therapeutic opportunities before they reach mainstream adoption. Her strength is translating complex scientific and technical capability into commercially viable solutions — a skill that has driven IAG’s growth from a research spin-out into a company with a global client base and its own portfolio of subsidiary companies. She brings this same thinking to IAG’s continued investment in AI and imaging technology as tools for optimizing trial design and reducing time to approval.
Dr. Kubassova built IAG from its founding into a global clinical imaging CRO, establishing partnerships with top-tier pharmaceutical and biotech companies and developing DYNAMIKA — IAG’s proprietary quantitative imaging platform. She has led the company through sustained growth across therapeutic areas including oncology, rheumatology, neurology, and rare disease, and has overseen the build-out of IAG’s AI capabilities as a core part of its service offering.
Beyond IAG, Dr. Kubassova is a committed advocate for women in leadership and is a founding member of The 2% Club, a network dedicated to increasing female representation at the top of business.
