Why this role might be right for you?

The CRO Inside Sales Manager develops deep understanding the market, identifies opportunities and engages with potential prospects with the aim to build relationships and to sell IAG products/services.

This role is focused on EU and US-based Biotech companies (focusing on small and mid-sized companies in the industry).

You will be working closely with senior-level Business Development and Sales people to close new business and secure contract renewals.

We are looking to recruit an individual who can drive relationships and seize growth opportunities, building upon our existing strategic partnership arrangements and networking throughout the industry for future partnership opportunities.

Your ability to grow the client base and develop new contacts through email, calls and in-person meetings while becoming technically knowledgeable about IAG’s product and service offering is key to your success and upward mobility.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong written, verbal communication and customer presentation skills
  • Knowledge of clinical trials, drug development, biotech, medtech or pharma operations (previous engagement in operational role in the CRO or BD role would be a plus!)
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite working knowledge, including Excel, Visio, CRM Dynamics
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills as well as good written, verbal, interpersonal, and negotiating skills
  • Independent achiever focused on meeting and exceeding target goals
  • Ability to negotiate, persuade and influence others to accept a point of view, adopt a specific agenda, or to take a course of action
  • Experience working in contracts/proposals/procurement would be a plus
  • Understanding of Life Sciences Business Development, Inside sales, or Sales Development
  • Existing contact network within the industry (i.e., pharma, biotech, CROs, etc.) is a plus
  • 3+ years of experience in life sciences (pharmaceutical, medical device, biotech, eClinical technology or contract research organization) with proven track record of achieving or exceeding target goals

Duties & Responsibilities:

Business Development and Inside Sales:

  • Initiates and responds to outbound and inbound sales calls or electronic inquiries directly to/from prospective and/or existing customers.
  • Responsible and accountable for the achievement of sales versus assigned quota.
  • Entering and tracking sales progress via CRM.
  • Has expert awareness of business, products, services, and the market.
  • May also be involved in order fulfillment, post-sales, or administrative related activities.
  • Has some authority/opportunity to set and negotiate product/service terms.
  • Collaborates with senior-level salespeople and managers to resolve routine issues.
  • Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data.
  • Builds strong relationships with all external customers.
  • Research companies that are planning or conducting clinical research studies in order to identify possible leads using Zymerwire and other knowledge-based tools,
  • Screening of all possible leads to narrow down the best possible targets.
  • Development of outreach ideas that can be implemented onto target companies.
  • Development of materials for outreach campaigns, including graphics, one pagers and overall presentations.
  • Collaboration with various departments to support organization of meetings, conferences and potential leads that will lead to RFPs.
  • Conduction of introductory emails, introductory presentations as well as client calls to make sure that we can initiate communication.
  • Working closely with marketing to follow up on outbound marketing leads, as well as follow up to recent Webinars and Newsletter responses.
  • Responsible for inside sales activities including preparation development, performance appraisal and mentorship. Includes assigning tasks and goals for each person acting within the Internal Sales function for contacting companies and implementing various strategies.
  • Delivery of weekly/monthly reports to management on ROI and hit rates. Also quarterly plans on how to adapt and target new companies.
  • Compliance with Salesforce/CRM
  • Any other administrative or client task related to commercial activity as assigned by IAG Management, either verbally or in writing.
  • Prospect, identify, initiate, develop, and nurture business relationships and opportunities in assigned territory/market/target accounts to generate new business.
  • Manage and qualify inbound warm leads from Marketing to create sales ready leads and opportunities.
  • Perform timely outbound calls and engage in other forms of communication (i.e., email etc.) to prospect for new opportunities and qualify warm leads from Marketing.
  • Engage in clear and effective communication (outbound calls, emails etc.) to build/cultivate interest in and educate on IAG offerings.
  • Identify key decision makers, determine buying readiness and timelines.
  • Meet metrics, targets and quotas established.
  • Handle objections and use sales strategy/technique to match customer needs to our solutions.
  • Capture and manage information/data/metrics in Salesforce/CRM system
  • Record sales pipeline development in IAG’s Salesforce/CRM

Revenue Related and Career Growth Opportunities:

You will be responsible for generating new and repeat business for IAG, promoting our services throughout the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and Medical Device industries. Working cross functionally, you will ensure a smooth process at all stages (proposal, bid defense) which maximizes the opportunity for success. You will build strong relationships, highlighting IAG strength in operations and promoting IAG as the choice partner in drug development.

  • Increase IAG’s revenue by assisting in signing up new clients and maintaining relationships with existing clients.
  • Assist in managing contractual agreements between IAG and clients.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Training junior BD / Inside Sales team members in BD, Sales, and marketing as required.
  • Support the development of IAG’s sales guidelines and training materials.
  • Identify and supervise grant opportunities in TA agreed with CEO and management.
