World-class expert in biomarkers and distinguished scientist who is actively driving a global consortiums in brining imaging, omics and biomarker driven approaches for the development of novel treatments of auto-immune and musculoskeletal diseases. Ali Mobasheri is Professor, Project Leader and Senior Research Scientist at the State Research Institute Centre for Innovative Medicine in Vilnius, Lithuania. Previously he was Associate Dean (Research & Enterprise) and Head of the Department of Veterinary Preclinical Sciences at the University of Surrey. He was also Associate Professor and Reader in Comparative Physiology at the University of Nottingham and Lecturer/Senior Lecturer at the University of Liverpool. He served as a Visiting Adjunct Professor in the Distinguished Scientist Program of the Center of Excellence in Genomic Medicine Research, King AbdulAziz University, Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from 2013-2016. Ali successfully coordinated the EU FP7 funded D-BOARD consortium and is a member of the EU IMI funded APPROACH consortium. In addition to his work with IAG, currently Ali is supporting research for innovative medicine in Vilnius, Lithuania, co-leads osteoarthrisis dedicated APPROACH Consortium: http://www.approachproject.eu and consults for many pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
